Great Toy Ideas:Pam at http://www.scotties-n-greys.com told me that Jazz really enjoyed sleeping in the snuggle bags at her house, so I thought I could probably make something like that myself. I went down to Wal-Mart and got a quarter yard of clearance fleece for a whoppin 75 cents and stole two hooks from toys we don't use anymore and made him one:
Here is a picture of Jazz in his snuggle bag, he sleeps in it every night:
Be sure to leave both ends of your snuggle bag open. The directions to make your own can be found by clicking here. If you would like for me to make you one. Use the form on the contact us page and let me know. They are $10 and I will email you for the specifics.
Another great idea from Pam at Scotties N' Greys: At WalMart, I buy those shower curtain rings and make little hanging chains to hang in their cage. I get the smallest ones for the Parrotlets and the bigger ones for the Green Cheeks. They are in there right now playing on that chain and just having a blast. They are hanging on the side of one, upside down from the bottom one, etc. They make very good inexpensive toys. You can even make hanging ladders with them. Instead of hanging straight down, hook one to the top of one side, swing it over to the other side and hook it to the top on that side, with about a 3" gap from the top for them to play on. |
